About
Meet Harold Strout
I’m a Central-Maine based fine art photographer working with both digital and large-format analog photography. My work expresses portraiture, landscapes, assemblage, conceptual themes, in color and black and white, informed by cinema, experimental lighting, and found objects.
Although largely self-taught, I studied photography at Vermont College. I’ve been operating a studio for twenty years. My work has been exhibited at the University of Maine, the Blaine House, and I’ve participated in various juried art exhibits and solo art exhibits in Maine. Additionally, I’ve been featured as a guest speaker at the University of New Hampshire, and I have publishing credits for poet David Moreau, United States and Canada.
My most recent affiliation has been with L/A arts, working on several projects, including art documentation and portraiture with featured artists.
